Frequently asked questions

Haglox is a New Zealand online marketplace where you can buy, sell, bid on auctions and negotiate offers on almost anything — general items, vehicles, property and more.

Tap Register and sign up with your email, or continue with Google. You can browse without an account, but you'll need one to buy, sell, bid or message a seller.

Browsing and buying are free. Listing a general item is free; other categories may carry a success fee, shown to you before you publish. Auction listings publish free and the fee applies only when the item sells.

Place a bid on a live auction and the highest bid at the end wins. Each bid must beat the current price by at least the minimum increment. Bids are binding — the higher you bid, the higher the price goes, so only bid what you're willing to pay.

When you place a bid, the bid amount is reserved (held) in your Haglox wallet so every bid is backed by real funds. If you're outbid, the hold is released automatically. If you win, the held amount is used to complete the purchase.

Buy Now lets you purchase a fixed-price item instantly. An auction is priced by bidding and only shows a bid button — there's no instant Buy Now on auction listings.

On fixed-price and service listings you can chat with the seller to negotiate. On auctions, you bid rather than make private offers.

Tap Sell, choose a category, add photos and details, set your price or auction, and publish. Our AI can auto-fill the title, description and a suggested price from your photos.

General items are free to list. For other categories a success fee applies. For auctions the fee is taken from the sale proceeds when the item sells, so there's no upfront charge to list.

When an auction settles or a buyer completes a purchase, the proceeds (less any success fee) are credited to your Haglox wallet, from which you can request a withdrawal.

Open your Wallet and choose Top up. Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Stripe. Haglox never sees or stores your full card details.

Request a withdrawal of your available balance from the Wallet screen. Funds move out of your available balance and are settled to you by the team.

Yes. All payments run over encrypted connections through PCI-compliant payment processors. Passwords are never stored by Haglox — sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication provider.

From your profile you can verify your email and phone number. Verification builds trust with other users and unlocks the verified badge.

Use the in-app support assistant (HEXA) or contact us via the Support page. Serious issues — suspected fraud, payment problems, safety concerns — are escalated to our team.
